Header created with a scrap kit by the incredible Kristine at WenchdGrafix called Into The Mystic. You HAVE TO visit her store HERE and her blog HERE... what a hoot she is! The swirlys came from a 200X200 gif I had laying around on my hard drive with NO idea who created it (let me know if it's yours). I have no clue about the tube of the girl either... I got it from MQQN and thought it was cute!

Happy New Year

~~Happy New Year everyone~~

Argghhhhhhhhhh....

With all the time I spend on the Internet, you'd think I'd do better. But then, what do I care about the stuff they asked? Haha!

Sorry I've been scarce. I've been sooo busy! I did at least find time to take down my blog's Christmas tree and decorations. I still need to make a new header... maybe for the New Year. Maybe next week after hubby goes to back to work I'll have time to blog. HUGZ

Just Playing...

You Were Nice This Year

You Were 40% Naughty, 60% Nice

Okay, so you weren't *entirely* nice this year
But Santa doesn't expect a modern girl to be perfect
You were good enough - and you'll be rewarded for it

Merry Christmas

Hi everyone! I'll be busy the next couple of days (starting today) with hubby's family and my family, so this will be VERY short. I just wanted to wish you all a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Atasi is coming!

Woohoo! I just found out one of my friends, Atasi, will be joining us tonight! If you never met her, she's AWESOME! She has a MySpace blog (and I flat-out refuse to sign up for MySpace, LOL) that you can visit HERE. She used to be the manager for Posin... a Poison tribute band... that's played all over the midwest. Needless to say, she's a "hair-band enthusiast". She's even published her own songs that she wrote, one of which you can hear at her blog. That song down there by Bon Jovi is dedicated to you, girl! Here she is! See ya tonight, Atasi!

Check out this awesome blog! and other stuff...

I just HAD to make a new header! Kristine of Wenchd Grafix made an AWESOME kit that I just HAD to use! I'm still learning this "scrappin' thang" so please don't laugh, LOL. You can visit her blog HERE. You have to go visit! She's such a funny person, so personable, friendly... and did I say FUNNY?! I go to visit every day just to get my daily chuckle, LOL. Thank you Kristine!

Not much going on so far this week. Can you tell from the posts on my blog? Blah! I guess I got ahead of myself wrapping ALL the presents. I should have done it a little at a time so I'd have something to do. I guess it's time to work on my scrapbooking some more, huh? I'm having a hard time because I haven't re-installed any of my PSP/PS filters/plugins yet. I'm stuck with same ol' standard stuff...

Oh yeah, tonight I get to see an old friend of mine that I don't get to see very often! I'm soooo excited! We're meeting for dinner/drinks at a small place near her work. We used to to have sooo much fun when we worked at Motorola together... HI MIMI!!! Another old friend MAY show up... here's hoping Elie can make it too. I can't wait. That reminds me... it's time to sh*t/ shower/ shave, LOL. Ciao for now!

Christmas Facts & a present I got

Look at what I got! I thought it was so cute... love that birdy! Teri made it for me! Woohoo!

Astound your friends and family this holiday season with your knowledge of Christmas with these fun facts

The word Christmas is Old English, a contraction of Christ’s Mass.

The first president to decorate the white house Christmas tree in the United States was Franklin Pierce.

Electric lights for trees were first used in 1895.

The first Christmas cards were vintage and invented in 1843, the Victorian Era.

“It’s a Wonderful Life” appears on TV more often than any other holiday movie.

“Rudolph” was actually created by Montgomery Ward in the late 1930’s for a holiday promotion. The rest is history.

“The Nutcracker” is the most famous Christmas ballet.

“Jingle Bells” was first written for Thanksgiving and then became one of the most popular Christmas songs.

If you received all of the gifts in the song “The Twelve Days of Christmas”, you would receive 364 presents.

The poinsettia plant was brought into the United States from Mexico by Joel Poinsett in the early 1800’s.

Holly berries are poisonous.

Contrary to common belief, poinsettia plants are non-toxic.

In 1843, “A Christmas Carol” was written by Charles Dickens in just six weeks.

The first state to recognize the Christmas holiday officially was Alabama

Christmas became a national holiday in America on June, 26, 1870.

Coca Cola was the first beverage company to use Santa for a winter promotion.

An angel told Mary she was going to have a baby.

Clearing up a common misconception, in Greek, X means Christ. That is where the word “X-Mas” comes from. Not because someone took the “Christ” out of Christmas.

Traditionally, Christmas trees are taken down after Epiphany.

More diamonds are sold around Christmas than any other time of the year.

In Mexico, wearing red underwear on New Year’s Eve is said to bring new love in the upcoming year.

Laundry day...

Yep, it's laundry day. I hate this "chore" more than anything in the world! Ah well, the fact of life is that if we don't wash, we STINK, haha!

Is it Monday already?

It was a VERY busy weekend! Friday night we had hubby's Christmas party. I didn't know anyone but it was fun meeting new people. Some of them are such goofs! We were home by 8pm and enjoyed the rest of the evening watching television.

Saturday, I finally got ALL the Christmas shopping done! Woohoo! It was all clothes and I totally forgot to take a picture. Sorry Mom and Dad! I had a blast though, and the kids will be well dressed this winter. I'll make sure I get some pictures on Christmas day. YES, you heard it right. I'll be seeing both Art AND Bob on Christmas DAY!!! Bob and Amy are having dinner at their house. It's been ages since I've seen them on a real holiday day. Thank goodness for ex-husbands moving away to Dixon, IL, aka Boo-Foo-Nowhere, haha. Oh yeah, back to what I was saying: I got it ALL wrapped!!! I spent 6 hours straight wrapping, wrapping, wrapping. I was exhausted but was determined to finish. TA DA!

Mom and Dad, are you reading? I forgot to tell you the other night when I called.... ready for this? You're probably going to be Great-Grandparents AGAIN!!!!

Yes, Kim is pregnant again. So far so good! She hasn't had morning sickness so she thinks it's a boy, ha! She's about 7 weeks along right now. The doctor gave her 08-08-08 as her due date (or somewhere around that date) but, since she's had all caesarian, the date will probably be the end of July sometime. SURPRISE!!!! Let's hope for a healthy pregnancy. She's had a hard time before....

On to Sunday.... Emma's birthday party! It was small, a couple of friends, Dave and I, Bob and Amy, Art and Kim but it was cute. Here's a picture of Emma with her birthday cupcake. I love it!

I never ate like that did I?! This was actually a series of about 30 pictures but I condensed it to only three. She's such a doll, but not looking very happy. Soooooooo, I have to share this one too. It's the only picture I took with Emma actually smiling! She was so tired that she could hardly keep her eyes open. I barely remember the "nap" days!

Signing off for now. I have to get ready for the chiropractor. I'm still wondering if he's helping my migraines, or making them worse!

******

Just a quick note: Mom & Dad, I checked UPS and your "package" of pictures is scheduled to be delivered 12/18. Merry Christmas!

Oh, and looky what I got in my mail today! Thank you, I love them! I hung them in the living room already. The rest will be only opened on Christmas, I promise.

I'm leaving you with a joke. Goodnight!

Why did the chicken cross the road?

DR. PHIL:
The problem we have here is that this chicken won't realize that he must first deal with the problem on "THIS" side of the road before it goes after the problem on the "OTHER SIDE" of the road. What we need to do is help him realize how stupid he's acting by not taking on his "CURRENT" problems before adding "NEW" problems.
_______________________________________________________
OPRAH:
Well I understand that the chicken is having problems, which is why he wants to cross this road so bad. So instead of having the chicken learn from his mistakes and take falls, which is a part of life, I'm going to give this chicken a car so that he can just drive across the road and not live his life like the rest of the chickens.
_______________________________________________________
GEORGE W BUSH:
We don't really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want to know if the chicken is on our side of the road, or not. The chicken is either against us, or for us. There is no middle ground here.
_____________________________________________
COLIN POWELL:
Now to the left of the screen, you can clearly see the satellite image of the chicken crossing the road...
___________________________________________
ANDERSON COOPER - CNN:
We have reason to believe there is a chicken, but we have not yet been allowed to have access to the other side of the road.
__________________________________________
JOHN KERRY and HILLARY CLINTON:
Although I voted to let the chicken cross the road, I am now against it! It was the wrong road to cross, and I was misled about the chicken's intentions. I am not for it now, and will remain against it.
__________________________________________
NANCY GRACE:
That chicken crossed the road because he's GUILTY! You can see it in his eyes and the way he walks.
___________________________________________
PAT BUCHANAN:
To steal the job of a decent, hardworking American.
_________________________________________
MARTHA STEWART:
No one called me to warn me which way that chicken was going. I had a standing order at the Farmer's Market to sell my eggs when the price dropped to a certain level. No little bird gave me any insider information.
_________________________________________
DR SEUSS:
Did the chicken cross the road? Did he cross it with a toad?
Yes, the chicken crossed the road, but why it crossed I've not been told.
_______________________________________
ERNEST HEMINGWAY:
To die in the rain. Alone.
________________________________________
JERRY FALWELL:
Because the chicken was gay! Can't you people see the plain truth in front of your face? The chicken was going to the "other side." That's why they call it the "other side." Yes, my friends, that chicken is gay. And if you eat that chicken, you will become gay too. I say we boycott all chickens until we sort out this abomination that the liberal media whitewashes with seemingly harmless phrases like "the other side." That chicken should not be crossing the road. It's as plain and as simple as that.
______________________________________________
GRANDPA:
In my day we didn't ask why the chicken crossed the road. Somebody told us the chicken crossed the road, and that was good enough.
__________________________________________
BARBARA WALTERS:
Isn't that interesting? In a few moments, we will be listening to the chicken tell, for the first time, the heart warming story of how it experienced a serious case of molting, and went on to accomplish its life-long dream of crossing the road.
___________________________________________
JOHN LENNON:
Imagine all the chickens in the world crossing roads together, in peace.
____________________________________________
ARISTOTLE:
It is the nature of chickens to cross the road.
____________________________________________
BILL GATES:
I have just released eChicken2007, which will not only cross roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your checkbook. Internet Explorer is an integral part of eChicken. This new platform is much more stable and will never cra...#@&&^( C \ .
reboot.
______________________________________________
ALBERT EINSTEIN:
Did the chicken really cross the road, or did the road move beneath the chicken?
____________________________________________
BILL CLINTON:
I did not cross the road with THAT chicken. What is your definition of chicken?
____________________________________________
AL GORE:
I invented the chicken!

COLONEL SANDERS:
Did I miss one?

Dang cat!

I can't believe it! The one day I get to enjoy hubby's company in the morning (SLEEPING... what were you thinking?), my cat comes in at sunrise and does her very loud and very persistent meowing. I'm never sure if she just wants attention or wants food. So I sat up and she went away! I guess she just didn't like the fact that I was sleeping and she wasn't... hrmph! Needless to say, I've already been up for hours. After taking my usual handful of Extra Strength Exedrin, I'm finally ALMOST alive. And, of course, the cat went back to sleep... because I'm up!

Today will HOPEFULLY be my last day of Christmas shopping. I want to get wrapping! I've managed to get all the toys, so now I'm going to finish up with a couple cute outfits for the grandkids. I don't "do" adults anymore so shopping is really fairly easy now. Most kids would be happy with a saucepan and spoon.... or just a big box, haha! The hardest part was finding car seats... I looked everywhere for two of the same kind. Did you know that a lot of stores only stock one at a time? Jeesh. I finally found them and JUST TO MAKE ROOM in my "junk" room, my oldest son and wife and son already have them.... two less things to wrap! This is what I got... TWO of them. These thing aren't cheap! (THANK YOU Mom & Dad).

Anyway, this is my partial pile that I have to wrap, ha! Yep, I paid the CRAZY price for the Lincoln Logs. Who would have thought those things would be so expensive! Thank you again, Mom & Dad!

I'm off to get ready for the mall now, YUCK. Maybe I'll be back later with more pics. I took some really cute shots of my grandkids last week when I was babysitting.

It's soooo early....

It's 1:30 a.m. and I can't sleep. Nothing unusual of course... tossing and turning until I finally get up and check out my email and blogs I want to visit. This migraine just won't ease up! So I just thought I'd pop some more pictures here. These were done about a year ago for my mom and dad when dear Emma was born. Her birthday is TODAY. Happy Birthday 1-year-old!!! She's definitely changed since then!

And here's another. I had to do one Christmasy LO and one pink LO, haha. That's my oldest son, his wife, their first daughter Tayli and newborn Emma.

I'm logging off now to try to lay my head back down. Maybe I'll try to write more in the morning sometime. G'nite!

I'm back!
Well I have been tagged,
So now I need to answer a bunch of cool Christmas questions!
1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping paper, but if it's small or unwrappable I'll use gift bags. It's so hard to make that tissue paper look right!
2. Real or Artificial tree? I love real trees but they're so hard to clean up. So I have an phony tree
3. When do you put up the tree? Sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas... no special date.
4. When do you take the tree down? The day after Christmas!
5. Do you like Eggnog? Most definitely YES! It kills my stomache but it's a MUST-HAVE at Christmastime
6. Favorite Gift you received as a child? Oh my, I got so many great gifts, I don't think I have a favorite
7. Do you have a nativity scene? Yes, quite a few (thank you Mom!)
8. Hardest person to buy for? my father... he has EVERYTHING!
9. Easiest person to buy for? my grandkids
10. Worst Christmas gift ever received? I don’t remember any bad presents!
Now, I am going to tag some people to answer these questions.
Have a great day!

Another day...

Well, the weekend was jam-packed with Christmas "stuff" to-dos. Friday night we went to see my youngest son's best friend play in their band Hollow Rain). If you like hard/loud music they're great! You can hear their music there too! Check it out! This is a pic of the band plus my son and the lead singer's, Phil, wife. I love the boy/man to death! My son is the one in the middle... he never shuts his mouth, LOL. I bet you can guess who the girl on the right is... yep, Phil's wife!

Saturday and Sunday, hubby and I went shopping, shopping, and more shopping. Toys 'R' Us should love us by now! I only have a few stray gifts to get. We also went to Sears Portrait to get out pics taken... the first ever, even after being married 14 years!!! I played around with a freebie mini-kit from Misschifis Scraps (THANK YOU... love your stuff!) and came up with the LO below. I'm still learning, but I'm trying LOL! Everything in the LO is from her kit called Christmas Wishes except the alpha and snowflake. I love the colors! The alpha & flake are from Jeanette Bolinger called Jolly Old Alpha.

I'm outta here now. I have TONS of Christmas stuffies to download from the
Christmas Around the World collab kit. I don't want to miss a thing!!!! I only have 4 more days before the kits go away forever! Cya in the funnies!

My first day

Okay, so I never had a blog before! I should have but was too lazy, haha. I'm here now... sharing.

My name is Kris and live in a western suburb of Chicago. I'm married to a wonderful man. My first marriage was a total flop but that's a different story. All I can say is that I LOVE the man I'm with. I hate it here though.. snow, humidity, too much politics. I'm a mother to three (2 boys, 1 girl), and have two more out there that I adopted off at birth (private adoption). ONE FOUND ME! (Hi Jessica!) I have five grandkids and love them to death. They're such joys to be around at that age (YOUNG). I'm also a step-grandma to a totally rambuncious little boy. You'll get to see some pics of them here soon.

I'm currently not working so I have tons of time to do as I please. Mostly I spend my time at digital-scrapbooking blogs and stores. I love digital!!!! I'm really new... I think I've done a handful of layouts... but my dream is to one day actually DESIGN my own kit. I've played around in PSP since version 5, I think, and now work with PSPX, PSPXII, PS-CS2, and any other graphics prog that will do as I command, LOL.

Anyway, here I am. You'll probably never see a picture of me here... I hate my pics! But I'll try to post tons about my kids and grandkids.

******************

This is the FIRST picture of my grandkids that I ever scrapped. This is four of 'em anyway, Julie, Austin, Madilyn, and Tayli. It's a tag and not printable :::sniff::: I usually use the LARGE kits and not the tagger's kits. Anyway, this picture was taken LAST Christmas and thought I'd share. I can't find the kit name that I used but it was created by ScrappyExpressions. She has a Yahoo group where she shares her creations here

Left to right: Julie, Austin, Madilyn, Tayli

Here's a recent picture (4th of July!) I scrapped of Emma... not very good but my first try with a template:

Emma!

Template by Hummie at http://blog.hummiesworld.com/

Kit by JulieO's - Delicious Blueberry Blue Kit at Stone Accents -http://stoneaccents.blogspot.com/

THIS is my step-grandson, Caleb... he's a cutey and so active! He's hard to keep up with. This is a pic I scrapped from his birthday party last month. I did the LO for DSB for a challenge. I have no clue who created the pieces that I used.... from tons of kits or freebies. So sorry. If you see something that is yours, please let me know and I'll add your info for sure!

He loves Thomas the Train (for the moment anyway)!

Well, ciao for now. I'm off to look for more Christmas goodies.
